However, if you ask me, the most beautiful description of yesterday’s historical announcement, came from Volkskrant-columnist Bert Wagendorp, wo wrote: “We, you and I, are the result of a slowing down. If the particles of which we consist would have continued flying around with the speed of light, there would have never been such a thing as human civilization. We owe everything to the Higgs particle, the great decelerator, creator of realities.” One would almost start to consider becoming a theologian. Or a columnist. Or even better: a performance artist. A creator of realities.
